Airëlindalë: an elven song
Where the land meets the sea
Effervescent new morning
By the land an elodie
Washed away new morning
Through the mist and thaw stream
Frost and birch are gathering
Leafs falls so is her necklace
Into a shard of filigree
Talia walks by the archways
The clouds followed amidst
Her hair is braided like golden leafs
Adorned with garland of another spring
There are strings of grapes in the opening
She approaches one and takes a sniff
Then she remembered last summer
Just like I remembered it
I watched the stars in a stream
In the stream stars are blooming
I saw a reflection mere dying
As if it were also a dream
Uttering a song that spoke to me
If I was also in a mist
Through the cold winter wind
Of the melancholy of been seen
Slowly the land dissolves the sea
Evanescent of ways dying
By the land an elegy
Flushed away new opening
Through the storm and thaw steel
A comforting sea feast
I heard sighs and singings
Always taking and changing shapes
We looked for a place in the Garden
Beyond the edge of woods and lores
Brothers sisters fathers sons
As for the spirits as for souls
Wandering far and wandering none
The wonders of lives the wonders of leafs
They reached for the golden hill
All they got is the pouring rain
Talia played the harp for the piece
She used a plectrum and a pick
I guess that made lyres of all of us
Since she intuitively understands the scores
You see for once there was the curse
Of defiance of old prophecy
Plagued by endless wars and delicate peace
His people became thinking beasts
In houses and courts fight arose
Blood was shed they broke the oath
Linen was washed and stained again
Swords were rust corrupting blood
Soon they torn there many homes
Corpses on carts on cobblestones
No one stands to take a stand
The old ones leaves throne for their old home
After centuries of fighting wars
They ventured beyond the endless sea
Only to return to where they started
On a ship only with the gifted ones
They ventured to the familiar shore
Talia was there to greet him
With thin lips and a nostalgic smile
"I prepared elven wines and mead
Seasoned and stored from a long ago"
To the land long ago he seen
Different from him seeing it
Through darkest sea and black rain
He thought he memorized the terrain
New structures were built that seemed old
New tales were told long after will be
Only heard by the dissolving sea
Epilogue
Talia was still singing
When sea became land land becomes sea
Her voices projected far away
But all I hear was the lyric
On one cold morning I broke the oath
And put my words into the song
That is when the magic fades out
And I became an aired leaf
